The steel framed aluminum panel shield capitalizes on the weight differential in aluminum and steel by utilizing aluminum for the majority of its composition. The shield is built of aluminum panel, which is
then encased by a durable steel frame. The steel frame introduces the possibility of mildly “dragging” the box as can be done with steel trench shields. The shield’s pipe clearance is also comparable with that of a conventional trench shield. It can be ordered with spreader sockets to fit 5” spreader pipe, which allows further weight reduction from the standard 8” spreader pipe.
The steel framed aluminum panel shield can be used in a variety of applications depending on the jobsite requirements and available equipment. Its most common application is linear production runs.
Coble Trench Safety rents and sells steel framed aluminum panel shields from the following high quality manufacturers: Speed Shore and Efficiency.
