The hydraulic excavation (manhole) bracing system provides continuous soil support for pit applications. The
excavation braces can be used in conjunction with sheeting to shore square and rectangular pits as a proactive shoring implement. Since the system is installed around the walls of the excavation it provides an open span excavation, which greatly improves working room as opposed to an excavation obstructed by horizontal spreaders.
Excavation braces are a relatively lightweight shoring system that may be installed using equipment with moderate lifting capacities. The system is installed from the top down inserting “rings” of excavation braces every 4 feet. The system is coupled with a 4 way hose bridle to allow the excavation brace sides to be pressurized simultaneously.
The system is used in pit applications such as pump stations, tank removals, bridge piers, manholes, small pump
stations and lift stations.
Coble Trench Safety rents and sells hydraulic excavation (manhole) bracing systems from the following high quality manufacturers: Efficiency, Pacific Shoring and Speed Shore.
