Unconventional Use of Aluminum Shield Helps Solves Contractor's Dilemma

The Specifics

The contractor had to stop the flow of water in the creek.  The contractor had to clean 300 feet of 56 inch storm drain.  The contractor found a point in the creek beyond where the storm drain emptied into the creek and blocked it off.  The contractor then went upstream and pumped the water through the pipe cleaning it out.  Once the water dammed up in front of the box they then pumped it out.

The Scenario
The contractor only had light equipment available for the project since it would not be possible to get an excavator near the creek.  The limited equipment available would exclude heavier pieces of equipment from being used on the project. 


The Solution
John Knighten met with the contractor to discuss the unique project and how Coble Trench Safety could help reach a feasible solution.  After a brief discussion, it was decided that a small aluminum trench shield could be used along with sand bags to plug the gaps along the trench shield.
